Climate Projects Supported Over the Years

Since we began measuring our climate footprint, Acqua dell’Elba has chosen to complement its emissions analysis and reduction activities with voluntary support for climate projects carried out outside its value chain.

In previous years, this contribution took the form of purchasing and retiring carbon credits certified according to recognised standards, in quantities equivalent to the emissions reported for each financial year.

The carbon credits purchased were retired from their respective registries and can therefore no longer be used or transferred. On this page, we provide information about the projects supported and the related documentation as part of our commitment to transparency.

The Evolution of Our Approach

Starting with our 2025 emissions inventory, Acqua dell’Elba has decided to evolve its climate strategy, moving away from the annual offsetting mechanism based on purchasing carbon credits equivalent to its reported emissions.

As our emissions inventory becomes increasingly comprehensive, we are now able to identify the main sources of our environmental impact more accurately and progressively focus our efforts on reduction measures that we can implement directly within our operations and throughout our value chain.

Supporting external projects remains an option that we will continue to assess over time, based on their quality, their alignment with our environmental strategy and their actual ability to make a positive contribution. Such support may take different forms and involve different instruments, without necessarily being linked to the purchase of carbon credits.
